They also track which counselors are credentialed with specific insurance companies and each counselor's clinical specialities.

Our Counselors

All of the counselors at the Phoenix Offices, LLC hold valid licenses as issued by the Washington State Department of Health and maintain their own separate business within this organization.

I have been a counselor for over 25 years.  After graduating from Chapman University, I worked at St. Peter Hospital in Outpatient Psychiatry and have been in private practice for 20 years.  My prior experience was also as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the US Army. I see adults as individuals or for couples counseling. My main orientation is as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, but I draw from many therapeutic orientations to meet the needs of my clients.  I see the therapeutic process as one of collaboration, or teamwork between the therapist and the client, to best meet the needs of the client. I see clients with a broad range of diagnosis and issues. I also have extensive training with first responders and Critical Incident Debriefing.

We have the inner wisdom needed to reach our highest potential. I work with the whole person, body, mind, spirit, in the context of individual experience, family, and community.
Clients may withdraw or use substances as a response to trauma, experiencing addiction, depression or anxiety, as a coping mechanism. Clients are the experts of their own experience, and I facilitate the process of change to meet their needs more effectively. Through collaborative work with varied theoretical approaches, I meet clients where they are, develop goals and work through the process of small steps to make changes that shift the outcomes. I work with adults, in individual, couples or family work. I specialize in areas of substance use and trauma.
My areas of interest include PTSD, codependency, domestic abuse and relationship issues, stress and anxiety disorders, depression and grief, sleep disorders, spirituality, and life transitions. I use mainly evidence-based therapies, with a focus on CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy), Motivational Interviewing, CBT, family systems, archetypal and dreamwork, and communication tools. I have 8-years experience in community mental health, after earning my Master’s degree in counseling psychology at St. Martin’s University.

Rachel DeLateur, Ph.D., LMHC
Picture
Hello, my name is Rachel DeLateur and I have 17 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with children, adolescents, families, those who have been diagnosed with a chronic mental illness, dual diagnoses, and those who have suffered varying degrees of traumatic events including domestic violence. Most of my experience is with individuals and group therapy. I have worked in the outpatient and inpatient setting as well as the forensic setting. My mission is to assist those who want to take back control of their life by teaching them skills to manage their emotions and to control their anxiety.
I use a combination of compassionate, nonjudgmental, and pragmatic skills as a therapist to provide a safe environment for each client to work through their most difficult challenges.

In my therapeutic approach to create an environment for client success, I use interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

I received my Master of Social Work degree from Portland State University in 1987. Since then I have provided counseling services to adults dealing with a broad range of mental and emotional challenges. As a clinical social worker I collaborate with my clients to address whatever concerns they bring to therapy. Because each person is unique, I take an integrated approach, drawing from a number of psychotherapeutic models to find the strategies that work best for each client.  The therapies I have training and experience in include Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also use techniques from other therapy approaches including Mindfulness, DBT skills training and Dynamic Deconstructive Psychotherapy.
