Liesl Bauer Judah, LICSW, PLLC
I earned my degree in 2005 from the University of Denver and have been licensed as an LICSW since 2009. After almost 6 years working in Community Mental Health, I began my private practice in Olympia in 2011. While I work with all school age children and their families, my practice tends to focus on Teenagers and their Families who are struggling with ADHD, Anxiety/Depression, and Behavior issues. I take an eclectic approach to Mental Health, using CBT, Psychoeducation, and Motivational Interviewing to help my clients accomplish their goals. My favorite part about this work is getting to know each unique individual and joining them in discovering their path through whatever it is that brought them to counseling.

I received my Master of Social Work degree from Portland State University in 1987. Since then I have provided counseling services to adults dealing with a broad range of mental and emotional challenges. As a clinical social worker I collaborate with my clients to address whatever concerns they bring to therapy. Because each person is unique, I take an integrated approach, drawing from a number of psychotherapeutic models to find the strategies that work best for each client. The therapies I have training and experience in include Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also use techniques from other therapy approaches including Mindfulness, DBT skills training and Dynamic Deconstructive Psychotherapy.

Michael Bergman
I began in the field of mental health in 1985, when I worked in an inpatient setting with adolescents experiencing substance abuse. My Master’s in Counseling Psychology is from St. Martin’s University. I have worked with individuals, couples and families, including several years leading a school-based group for junior-high students. Within the framework of my general psychotherapy practice, I offer specialized care for insomnia and other (non-breathing related) sleep disorders. I have no one-size fits all for mental health problems; each therapy is “customized” to the individual. I take great care to discover what is unique about each client – what makes that person “tick.” I am in network with Regence, Premera, Aetna and UHC health plans. I offer both in-person and telehealth options. My practice is split between offices at Olympia (Phoenix) and at Westport.
Kip Malone, LICSW
I recently moved to Olympia from New Mexico, and am learning to love the rain. I work with adults individually on a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, addiction, relationships, ADHD and OCD. In addition to working at the VA and with unhoused populations, I have worked extensively providing therapy for clients with addictions.
I believe that no two clients are the same, and tailor my approach to each individual. I use elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Motivational Interviewing, while exploring life’s big existential questions. I currently accept Premera, Anthem and Lifewise insurances

Christina Wellman, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Play Therapist
Hello and Saludos! I am very grateful to Phoenix Counseling and the warm welcome of other clinicians!
How I work: Clients often tell me that when I listen deeply, they rediscover their own way back to their best selves. It sounds simple, but navigating our own wounds and healing is deeply complex. Sometimes we just need a skilled helper. Sometimes, the whole family is still reeling from a terrible loss, and we don’t know how to help ourselves, let alone our children. We ask, “Are you okay?” and they shrug and walk away, leaving us feeling disconnected from our most precious people. I first saw the magic of play as healer in my early twenties, listening to two young family members re-enact a tragic scene using dolls. They whispered like it was a stakeout, replaying the death of a loved one.At the time, I didn’t understand the power of what they were doing—but they were following their own internal wisdom. Play isn’t frivolous or secondary. We remember events that carry emotional weight, and play allows children to process those lessons in a way workbooks or talk therapy often can’t. I usually incorporate creative modalities—such as sand tray, music, and art—for clients who are interested in exploring those approaches. My work is deeply informed by my training with Bonnie Badenoch’s program on Interpersonal Neurobiology and with Marshall Liles, an EMDR practitioner who integrates sand tray and family modalities into his practice.
Experience. Populations, Insurance: I’ve been an independently licensed therapist since 2015 and have worked continuously in clinical settings. My experience includes working with artists, college students, teens on a journey of self-discovery, individuals confronting systemic oppression, adult and child survivors of sexual assault, and families facing complex challenges. I help children as young as 5 and seniors dealing with grief and loss. I take most insurances including Premera, Regence, First Choice, Optum, Apple Health and some Medicare programs. I speak Spanish at a “Professionally Competent” level, and I offer sessions in Spanish as needed.
I earned my degree in Counseling Psychology from Washington State University in 2010 and am also a graduate of The Evergreen State College (1997).
